How long does it take to get my shade sail installed?
Every sail is made to order, usual lead times are around 2-3 weeks but it can get up to 4-6 weeks during the busy summer months
Will a Shade sail work for my back yard?
Yes! we can put shade sails just about anywhere. We've seen almost every possible scenario and have come up with a solution for everything.
Do I need council approval?
in most cases council approval is not needed for a regular shade sail, however each council will have slightly varying laws so your design may require building approval from your local council. We can take care of all communications on your behalf so you don't have to lift a finger.
How will I know what my shades will look like?
Every shade sail gets designed on a 3D CAD program before install begins, so you can see exactly what it will look like, how high the posts are, where the fittings will go, and what areas will be shaded.
How long will shade sails last?
We have shade sails that are up to 15 years old and still going strong.

Hey, I'm Max!
I founded Next Gen Sailmakers over 10 years ago with a simple goal: to build shade structures that perform as well as they look. Since then, we've helped hundreds of West Australian families transform their outdoor spaces into places they can enjoy all year round.
As a multiple World Champion sailor, I've spent my career designing, building and racing high-performance sails that must withstand some of the harshest conditions on the water. That same engineering mindset, attention to detail and obsession with precision is built into every shade sail we manufacture. I understand how fabric behaves under load, how wind affects a structure, and how to create tensioned fabric systems that are not only beautiful but engineered to thrive in Western Australia's demanding climate.
